Die Stadt wurde 1944 gegründet und liegt zwischen dem Paraguay-Fluss und der Transchaco-Straße, etwa 18 Kilometer von der Stadt Asunción entfernt . Diese optimale Lage hat der Stadt eine schnelle kommerzielle, industrielle und soziale Entwicklung ermöglicht.
